Our Heart to Heart Pillow Ministry makes two types of pillows to provide comfort and protection for people undergoing surgery and/or chemotherapy. Each pillow is made with love and prayed over before being taken to the Methodist Breast Care Center in Katy, TX.
The heart-shaped pillows are used post-surgery to provide underarm support and protection to sensitive areas, and they have an outer pocket perfect for a small ice pack to help with pain management.
A portacath is a small port placed beneath the skin so cancer patients can receive chemotherapy. Ports can make riding in a car uncomfortable because the seatbelt rubs on the port area. The small rectangular portacath pillows cushion and protect port sites from the seatbelt, which aids in comfort and healing.
